Architecture for Common Good

The international architecture seminar Architecture for Common Good is organised 12 November 2019 in the award-winning Amos Rex art museum complex in Helsinki. The beautifully restored Functionalistic style part of the complex, Bio Rex, was originally a cinema theatre. The event brings together decision makers, experts and influencers of the built environment. The event is part of the Finnish EU presidency programme and supports the recently launched programme work for a new architectural policy in Finland. The keynotes and debates of the seminar programme explore architecture’s potential to create common good by combining cultural, social, economical, environmental and technical perspectives to the built environment. The event is organised by the Finnish Association of Architects SAFA in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Culture of Finland and Archinfo Finland. The Architecture for Common Good programme also includes an architecture excursion on 13 November. In conjunction with the event, on 10–11 November, there will be an international conference “Creating the Future III” on creative education and architecture.
